Your electricity infrastructure
Power. Strength. Resilience.
WHO WE ARE
The Power of Connections
Ohmera is a Tasmanian electrical infrastructure contractor specialising in enterprise-level asset replacement and maintenance for councils and utilities.
We hold TasNetworks endorsement for above and below ground works — one of a small number of contractors in the state with this accreditation. We operate statewide and have offices in Hobart and Launceston.

Connected. Maintained. Future-ready.
We pride ourselves on our super robust risk-management approach and a laser focus on reliability and innovation—constant training in the highest safety standards is simply a given for us.
That’s why we're endorsed to operate TasNetwork assets, above and below ground. A rare permission shared with only a small handful of people around the state.
We use this knowledge and experience to make robust, value driven and powerful connections for our clients, big and small.
It’s what powers us.
Cheers,
The Ohmera team

WHAT WE DO
Services Built for Scale, Stability and Connectivity
Put simply, we provide specialist electrical services for public and private assets, big and small.
But that doesn’t come close to what we really offer which is a more powerful level of connection than you’ll find anywhere else.
Whether you're managing aging infrastructure, transitioning to renewable energy, or ensuring uninterrupted new power, successful progress relies on successful connections. This is our Ohmera commitment.
Connection strength.
Us to you. You to the world.

WHAT WE DELIVER
Core Services
Tasmania's electrical infrastructure is ageing, ownership is complex, and the pressure on asset managers is real.
Ohmera works across the full stack — poles, lights, high and low voltage — for councils, TasNetworks and developers across the state. We are endorsed to operate TasNetworks assets and built for enterprise-scale delivery.
Poles & Lights
Streetlighting and pole responsibility in Tasmania is split between TasNetworks and councils. Many assets are past economic life and replacement decisions are too often driven by failure rather than planning.
This often results in fragmented accountability and assets that fall through the gap.
Ohmera specialises in pole replacement and streetlight upgrades to deliver compliant, coordinated outcomes.
-
Pole replacement and structural upgrades
-
Streetlight supply, installation and commissioning
-
Rag bolt compliance and rectification
-
End-of-life asset identification and prioritisation
-
Coordination across TasNetworks approval requirements

Scheduled Maintenance
Deferred maintenance compounds. Streetlight faults, substation servicing and routine pole inspections are predictable costs — the question is whether they're planned or reactive.
-
Streetlighting fault response and bulk lamp upgrades
-
Substation maintenance and inspections
-
Routine pole testing and condition assessments
-
Forward maintenance scheduling, costing and administering
Overheard & Underground
Complex infrastructure requires authorised operators. Ohmera holds TasNetworks endorsement for above and below ground works — one of a small number of contractors in Tasmania with this accreditation.

Renewable & Remote Power Systems
94%
of Tasmania’s energy came from renewables in 2024.
OHMERA bridges the gap between innovation and application—building and maintaining systems that thrive in Tasmania’s most challenging conditions.
A statewide service and emergency response team means we get to you quickly wherever you are and resolve issues safely and cost-effectively.

FUTURE-FACING
A Grid Maintained
The IEA (International Energy Agency) forecasts* that demand for electricity will increase six times as fast as demand for energy overall in the next decade.
Yet, we are grappling with aging electricity infrastructure as most grids, big and small, were built for transmission not resilience.
At Ohmera we’re working hard on developing cost-effective products and services that address the maintenance issues of that existing grid infrastructure.
We know that infrastructure is more than just wires and hardware—it’s a promise of connection.
